Assistant Director - Scholarship Resource Center

George Fox University's Financial Aid team is looking for a passionate and highly motivated individual to serve as the Assistant Director of the Scholarship Resource Center. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with the Director and Associate Director to provide clear purpose, goals, and direction for the Financial Aid office and staff. The ideal candidate will believe in the value of a George Fox education and understand the power and role that financial aid plays, specifically through your work with the Scholarship Resource Center (SRC).

As part of the SRC, you will develop and implement programs, events, and scholarship/education recruitment campaigns. The Assistant Director of the Scholarship Resource Center will manage our annual donor funded scholarship selection process, working collaboratively with the Financial Aid Counselors, academic departments and advancement. You will also develop and conduct formal financial aid and scholarship presentations to current and prospective students and their families.

In addition to the operation of the SRC, the Assistant Director of the Scholarship Resource Center will help to coordinate and process all external funding sources including alternative loans, state grants and outside scholarships. In our highly collaborative environment, this person will be able to partner with their colleagues in the Financial Aid office to coordinate and oversee our communication sequences and strategies to ensure that every message to every student is clear, compelling, mission centric, and communicates value.

With our student employees, you will be expected to take on a leadership role as you not only hire, train and oversee them, but also provide purpose and context to their work in helping us achieve our department, division and university goals. As the Scholarship Resource Center expands, the Assistant Director of the Scholarship Resource Center will also develop and implement an internship program for students to provide peer-to-peer mentoring and review of scholarship applications, essays and process.

Essential Responsibilities

• Leverage the Scholarship Resource Center to communicate the value of George Fox.
• Coordinate and oversee major communication and education campaigns.
• Supervise, hire, schedule, and train student employees/interns

Associated Responsibilities

• Process and track funding from external sources such as outside scholarships, alternative loans and state grants.
• Assist in coordinating the production and distribution of financial aid materials.
• Organize and facilitate awarding of donor funded scholarships through scholarship manager.

Assigned Processes

• Promote and market Financial Aid office through various campaigns and workshops.
• Research and communicate viable scholarship resources.
• Move students efficiently through the process of securing external scholarship funds.
• Supervisory duties with all student employees.
• Set and assess goals for attendance at workshops and appointments.

Minimum Requirements

• 1-2 years experience
• Bachelors Degree
