Associate Director of Graduate and ADP Admissions

Purpose for the Position:  This position is designed to provide ground-level strategic leadership to the Graduate and ADP Admissions team and to recruit students at George Fox University, advising/counseling them from initial inquiry through graduation. 

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Hire, train, supervise and evaluate Graduate Admissions Counselors. Build and maintain a teamwork-oriented atmosphere. Provide professional development opportunities for Graduate and ADP staff.
  2. Provide oversight of sales, recruiting, and support materials for Graduate and ADP Admissions team, working closely with the Marketing Department for design and content support.
  3. Coordinate Graduate and ADP admissions/enrollment team efforts to insure operation of unit achieves university goals.
  4. Serve as the Admissions Counselor for the PsyD and EdD programs, and other programs that may be temporarily assigned. Recruit new graduate students and organize and manage admissions portion of those programs.
  5. Provide over of and direct prospective students to appropriate student services including financial aid, registrar, and housing options.
  6. Research market and analyze trends regarding assigned academic program(s). Collaborate with Graduate Admissions Director and program directors to develop long-term enrollment strategies. Contribute to the setting of recruitment and enrollment goals.
  7. Establish and maintain a dynamic, cooperative relationship with program directors and faculty in areas of assigned programs.
  8. Prepare and organize graduate student credentials for program admissions committees.
  9. Represent the University as an exhibitor at career fairs, professional conferences, and trade shows. Travel as necessary on behalf of the University. Research new venues and assess effectiveness of attended conferences, shows, and fairs.
  10. Support admissions and recruitment efforts in all graduate programs as a member of the Graduate Admissions team.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  2. 5 years experience in sales or recruitment in a customer-focused environment required, preferably in a college setting providing student support services with a focus on retention and graduation. Experience in counseling, student support, adult education or related fields also helpful; experience working with college students from diverse backgrounds also preferred.
  3. Customer service orientation required as well as interest in being a strong student advocate.
  4. Coaching/advising experience'demonstrated ability to assist people with setting and achieving goals.
  5. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills and detail orientation required as well as a high level of initiative
  6. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member as well as independently to accomplish organizational and unit goals.
  7. Availability and willingness to work some evenings and weekends.
  8. Ability to speak and write effectively in English and to communicate with the public and campus community in a helpful and courteous manner; ability to obtain and use information with tact and discretion;
