This institute aims to provide spaces for restoration, the nurturing of spiritual disciplines, and the development of peer networks to support pastoral thriving in ministry. Cohort participants will meet on the Oregon coast for four-day workshops over two summers. The institute will also offer an annual symposium for all cohorts to gather as a larger body alongside Portland Seminary/George Fox University College of Christian Studies student communities, with the intent to foster fruitful conversation regarding pastoral spiritual renewal.

Job Description for Director of the Institute for Pastoral Thriving

The director position carries the following responsibilities and tasks

• Serves as the primary contact for the institute
• Organizes annual planning and assessment meetings with principal institute leaders
• Supervises student interns for the institute
• Helps to strategize and plan in the areas of recruitment and fundraising for the institute
• Manages communication with church and denominational constituencies
• Manages admissions process
• Organizes retreats and fall symposium
• Oversees institute program's assessment system
• Manages institute's budget

Employment Details

• time position (~30 hours per week)

• Seminary degree and pastoral ministry experience highly are advantageous
