George Fox University announces an immediate opening for a full-time, Employee Benefits and Leave Administrator position in the Human Resources office.  This leader is responsible for the day to day care of employees through exceptional administration of employee benefit and leave programs for the entire organization.

Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Benefit Administration

  • Supports benefits plan administration for all company sponsored benefits programs and processes, including annual Open Enrollment, new hire enrollment, employee life events and administration of FSA accounts
  • Counsel employees and potential employees on plan provisions so that individuals can make informed decisions.
  • Act as liaison between employee and providers to resolve benefit related problems and ensure effective utilization of plans and positive employee experiences.
  • Performs payroll reconciliations and audits of benefits programs and facilitates accurate payment to vendors monthly.
  • Contribute to benefit negotiations discussions including medical/dental/life as well as perk and fringe benefit programs.
  • Manage wellness program.

Leave Administration

  • Serve as the main point of contact for employees and supervisors as it relates to leaves of absence and ADA requests.
  • Track and report, accurately and diligently leave of absence data.
  • Manage short and long term disability policies.

Safety

  • Coordinates workers compensation claims, track claims, interface with supervisors, employees as carrier throughout a claim.
  • Participates in proactively addressing safety concerns on campus.
  • Coordinates ergonomic assessments and makes recommendations to address ergonomic needs.

Compliance

  • Ensures company compliance with federal and state laws (e.g., FMLA, OFLA, ADA, OSHA, etc..)
  • Monitor employment and tax laws and anticipate, plan and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance with company policy and state and federal laws.
  • Collaborates with payroll and vendors on administration, reporting and analysis.
  • Prioritize and organize daily responsibilities to meet all deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the university's mission as described in the Statement of Faith and Community Lifestyle Statement on our website.
  • 5+ years of experience in benefit administration.
  • Highly motivated, autonomous and proactive with a genuine interest in employee benefits.
  • The ability maintain confidentiality, display discretion and protect the privacy of information.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Demonstrated professional attitude and excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills in business setting.
  • Must have permanent and unrestricted work authorization in the United States.
