Human Resources Business Partner

George Fox University announces an immediate opening for a full-time, Human Resources Business Partner position in the Human Resources office.  This leader is responsible for the day to day care of employees through exceptional partnership with their assigned business unit(s) and/or employee populations.  The HRBP will consult with line management providing HR guidance and administrative support for hiring, onboarding, employee engagement and a variety of other HR services.

Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

Talent Acquisition

  • Coordinates the hiring process for assigned business units.
  • Analyzes factors and formulates recommendations regarding salary placement, FLSA exemptions, job revisions and organizational structure.
  • Conducts job analysis and applies classification principles to position management, develop position descriptions and review existing position descriptions for accuracy and equity.
  • Maintains excellent documentation.
  • Provides expert technical/functional advice classification and compensation practices
  • Plans and coordinate employee on-boarding programs

Human Resource Management

  • Maintains accurate employee records in various record retention systems.
  • Coordinates issuance of employment contracts and or offer letters.
  • Develops and implements diversity and inclusion strategies in a team with other experts on campus.

 

Employee Development and Relations

  • Coordinate compliance training, employee recognition and employee development opportunities for assigned population.
  • Assists in developing and implementing employment policies.
  • Provide high quality advice to employees and supervisors regarding performance issues and various other workplace situations.
  • Implement programs to enhance employee experience.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

 

Compliance

  • Ensures university compliance with federal and state laws (e.g., FMLA, OFLA, ADA, OSHA, etc..)
  • Monitor employment and tax laws and anticipate, plan and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance with company policy and state and federal laws.
  • Collaborates with payroll and vendors on administration, reporting and analysis.
  • Prioritize and organize daily responsibilities to meet all deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the university's mission as described in the Statement of Faith and Community Lifestyle Statement on our website.
  • A commitment to working with a diverse population of people is essential; demonstrated experience in this area is preferred.
  • 2-3+ years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Highly motivated, autonomous and proactive with a genuine interest in employee experience.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality, display discretion and protect the privacy of information.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Demonstrated professional attitude and excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills in business setting.
  • Must have permanent and unrestricted work authorization in the United States.
