Program Coordinator for the Graduate School of Counseling

Job Purpose

Provide administrative support for the Graduate School of Counseling, which offers four masters programs, and four certificate programs. 

Essential Responsibilities

• Perform administrative duties in support of the chair, faculty, students and graduates. Coordinate and maintain course schedule spreadsheets
• Schedule student appointments with faculty
• Plan and execute events and conferences such as Hooding/Commencement, and Play Therapy Summer Institute
• Process licensure documents
• Order textbooks for all GSC courses
• Answer telephones and email
• Maintain confidential records
• Assist internship students with placement information, documentation, and course registration
• Communicate effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service.
• By actions, words and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role.
• Demonstrates awareness, respect and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people.

Associated Responsibilities

• Provide support of NWCCU, NCATE and CACREP accreditations through documentation of key assessments which includes compiling data, preparing spreadsheets, tables and graphs.
• Other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Strong detail orientation and ability to work at a fast pace with a high level of accuracy
• Strong organizational skills and detail orientation
• Ability to multi-task and work with frequent interruptions.
• Discretion and integrity in maintaining confidentiality
• Computer proficiency, including MS Office Suite, email, internet and data entry; data base/ ERP systems experience required; website maintenance experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
• Experience supporting multiple directors highly preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, including face-to-face, on telephone, in writing; and in understanding and following instructions
• An evangelical Christian commitment and lifestyle consistent with the institution's goals, including signed agreement with GFU Statement of Faith and Community Lifestyle Statement and being in living agreement with same.
