Translator

Purpose of this Position

Dr. Ohaneson is looking to hire someone to do occasional translation work (in English and Spanish) as part of her planning to welcome a cohort of Liberation Scholars Latina and Latino high school students from Woodburn to campus in July 2020 for a Great Books course as part of the Knowledge for Freedom grant from the Teagle Foundation.

The job offers flexible hours and valuable experience in community engagement. It is likely that the work will not take more than five hours a week. Some weeks, there may be no work at all. The job will last for up to eight months. There is the possibility of it being extended beyond May 2021.

• Has a strong working knowledge of written and spoken Spanish and English
• A good communicator, culturally sensitive, positive in spirit
